About the center
The Russian Center of Islamic Economics and Finance (RCIEF) can be considered as a promising activity to solve the problem that Islamic financial institutions face when expanding their activities in the CIS countries and the Russian Federation.
RCIEF was established in October 2008 on the basis of the Russian Islamic Institute in cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) and the Kuala Lumpur Business School (Malaysia).
The official opening of the Center took place on November 28, 2008, which was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Russian Federation Ali Hassan Jaafar, Acting Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to the Russian Federation Abdullah Mahdi Barak, Adviser on Religious Affairs at the Turkish Embassy in Moscow Bekir Gerek, as well as experts in the field of Islamic finance and economics.
